About Greta Hillman
Greta has been employed in a corporate setting in the financial industry for over 30 years. While diligently performing her tasks and climbing the corporate ladder Greta had a secret. Greta was utilizing her gifts and skills in the area of coaching, and financial counseling without realizing this was to be her destiny. She would often be called upon by friends, customers and coworkers for encouragement and advice. She would also use her skills to coach her teams to successful performance in the workplace.
In 2001 Greta was made aware there was actually a profession for Life Coaches at which time she wrote “The Predestined Me, living your God given Destiny”. Realizing writing was in her blood she also wrote “With this Ring” and “…but he never hit me”. In 2003 she began writing materials for classes she would teach for victims of domestic violence as well as those that suffered from depression.
In the fall of 2003 Greta was praying and heard the Holy Spirit say you are going to get breast cancer but you are not going to die. She continued praying and thought nothing else about what she’d heard until February 2004 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The Lords forewarning and assurance she would not die gave Greta a different outlook. She laughed with her pastor prior to her surgery to remove the cancer as he stated I don’t know what to pray. God has already said you’re going to be okay.
Sidetracked momentarily by breast cancer from 2004-2005 she took time to reflect and wrote two books of poetry. One book was entitled "Lord Show Me-Me, but will I like what I see." The other book was entitled “Real Life". During this time of creativity she also wrote the lyrics for 10 songs. Greta's creativity runs deep. She has also created a line of greeting cards and jewelry.
Although she loves her creative side her passion is for people. In 2010 Greta became a Certified Life Coach and Certified Career Coach and in 2012 she became a Certified Financial Counselor. Greta desires for everyone to live up to their God given potential. She has a heart for the wounded and broken especially those that don’t even realize they are broken.
Her passion for people has lead her to believe her mission on earth can be found in Isaiah 61: 1-3 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
She also believes in Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. In an abusive marriage for 15 years Greta learned abusive does not have to be physical. In her case it was verbal, emotional, mental and financial. Tired of the abuse she cried out to the Lord. Change him or move him, change me or move me and within 3 months of her prayer God set up the perfect storm and the marriage was over.
The Pièce de résistance, or her aha moment ocurred when God delivered Greta from fear. Greta lived in fear most of her life. Her marriage was based on fear. Fear that no one else would marry her. She was afraid to speak what was on her mind and act on what she believed. She was afraid of hurting peoples feeling, and that people would become angry with her. Ready for the fear to end God stepped in and placed her in two different situations where she had to be forthcoming and stand up for herself which she did and has never looked back.
Co-Pastor of Faith Church in Christ Greta is also a Certified Life Coach or as she defines her role as a Life Coach a Minister of the Gospel with the gift of Exhortation. She is a Certified Financial Counselor and Holds a BBA in Management. She is a speaker, author, writes poetry and greeting cards.
Greta resides in Atlanta Georgia with her husband Johnny. The Hillmans have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.
